Quality Pine Horse Bedding

Our shavings are manufactured directly from select pine trees. Timber is pulled from tracts that are harvested and replanted. No "clear cut" timber is used.

Logs are processed on custom made shaving machines designed for the sole purpose of generating the finest quality bedding. These shaving machines produce a medium size flake that is extremely thin and fluffy.

Shavings are conveyed directly into a computer controlled, triple pass, rotary dryer that is powered by a 20 million Btu burner. The rotary dryer reduces the moisture content to less than 10% and removes harmful bacterial. The product is consistently monitored and tested for all micro-organisms including Salmonella.

Shavings are then screened using a two-fold system. The first screen removes splinters, bark and all other
large particles. The second screen removes virtually all the dust from the shavings.

The final product is then conveyed directly to bagging stations and processed into UVI treated poly bags. The bags are then stacked on pallets and stretch wrapped. We stack every bag of shavings by hand so that we can assure every bag that leaves our facility is inspected for quality.

The standard bag of shavings is a highly compressed bag. A computer controlled automatic bagger compresses 11 cubic ft. of product into a 3.0 cubic ft. bag. When opened, the shavings expand to 9.0 cubic ft. or more.
